For the first time since they joined the NHL in 1967, we can say that St. Louis Blues are Stanly Cup champions. Fifty-two years without winning and forty-nine years since they last appeared in the finals, where they coincidentally also played the Bruins with a different result. What makes this even more wild is that the Blues were in last place in the league just six months before winning the whole thing which is absolutely absurd. To kickstart this march to the Stanley Cup, they put in a rookie goaltender (BINNINGTON!) who helped them go on a 15 game winning streak. The team rallied and they clearly couldn't be stopped as evidenced by bringing the Stanley Cup to St. Louis for the first time EVER. To celebrate, the city of St. Louis held a parade on June 15th where I got to live my best street photographer life capturing all the excitement in the city that day. Hope you enjoy and play Gloria!
