24 hours in Richmond at The Quick Hotel

During our holiday vacation this past January visiting my family in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Aaron and I took a mini vacation in between our week. We wrestled the weeks leading up if we should go in the middle of time with family but, it was such a special way to take some time to invest in each other and explore a new city together. I don't think you will ever regret investing your time and energy into your spouse or friend. We have no regrets from making time for each other and staying at the Quirk Hotel! Highly recommend a trip or staycation to the Quirk! :)

Like every good millennial, I found Quirk Hotel on Instagram and not only is it totally instagrammable for photos, it's absolutely stunning in real life too. It's thoughtfully designed, not too spare, not too crowded, all serving a purpose. I also wasn't sure how I'd feel about all the pink or if my husband would feel like I took him to a feminine hotel but it was quite the opposite. It felt so sophsticated and clean.

Now, a place can be so "instagrammable" but still not be a fan favorite in my book if their customer service lacks or what have you. And, since we arrived a day after New Years Eve I was curious how the service would be after a busy holiday season but as soon as I jumped out of the car the most friendliest staff member greeted me out in the 23 degree weather and asked if we wanted valet! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and Quirk.

You get a free drink treat ticket to use at the coffee shop in the lobby and I love my maple and pine latte. I love exploring new cities and finding coffee shops but with the freezing temps, I also loved not having to go far to try local coffee.

I can’t wait for us to return and for me to pretend I’m in the film Grand Budapest Hotel movie. Am I the only one who can see Wes Anderson designing this beautiful hotel?!
